Plenty of people scroll with the sound off. Captions keep them watching, and the animated kind, where each word lights up as it’s spoken, is now the standard look on Reels, TikTok and Shorts. Drawever’s Video Captions tool adds them for you: upload a clip, pick a style, and download it captioned.
Video Captions is in beta. If something looks off, tell us in the studio chat.
How it works
- Upload your video. Up to 3 minutes per video.
- Pick a style, size, position and animation (see below).
- Generate. Drawever transcribes the speech, times every word, and burns the captions into your video.
- Download the captioned clip.
The spoken language is detected automatically, and right-to-left languages like Arabic are supported.
Your options
Style. Each style highlights the spoken word in its own color:
| Style | Highlight |
|---|---|
| Classic | Yellow |
| Sunset | Pink |
| Ocean | Cyan |
| Lime | Green |
| Fire | Orange |
Text size. Small, Medium or Large.
Position. Bottom, Center or Top.
Animation.
- Karaoke: the line appears and each word lights up as it’s spoken.
- Word by Word: words appear one at a time as they’re said.
Vertical videos get shorter caption lines, so the text stays inside the frame on phones.
Tips
- Clear audio, better captions. Background music under speech is fine; loud music over it makes transcription harder.
- Mind the app buttons. On TikTok and Reels, the bottom of the screen is covered by the caption and buttons. Center position keeps your captions clear of them.
- Large text for phones. Most viewers watch on a small screen. Medium or Large reads best.
- Pick one style per account. The same caption look on every video makes your posts recognizable.
Make the video on Drawever too
No video yet? Make one in the studio: create an image with Text to Image or Photo to Anime, turn it into a 5-second clip with sound using Image to Video, then caption it. Our guide to Drafts and HD explains the video options.
Pricing
Each captioned video costs 3 credits. The tool needs a free account, which comes with free credits, no card needed. A $10 pack (175 credits) captions 58 videos, your first purchase can be 75 credits for $5, and credits never expire.
